What Are the Best Breweries in Nashville?

The best brewery depends on the visit you want: a big beer garden, a family afternoon, or a specific style of beer. Nashville Guru’s breweries guide, updated August 31, 2026, lists 15 breweries in the city, each with a “must-try” beer (Nashville Guru). For a big outdoor scene, it describes Yee-Haw Brewing’s beer garden at 6th & Peabody in SoBro, shared with Ole Smoky, as “one of the best in Music City”, with two jumbotrons. For history, it calls Blackstone Brewing in West End “Nashville’s first craft brewery.” For Belgian-style beer, it points to Black Abbey’s Fellowship Hall taproom in Berry Hill. Bearded Iris in Germantown has a patio and a kid-friendly taproom, and its must-try is Homestyle.

Source: Nashville Guru, August 31, 2026. Its list also includes Tennessee Brew Works and Fait la Force. Three more names on that list have changed:
- Czann’s in The Nations is closed; Nashville Guru’s own Czann’s page marks it “Location Permanently Closed”, and What Now reported in February 2025 that Living Waters Brewing was taking over the 4909 Indiana Avenue space (What Now).
- Bassline‘s address, 410 39th Ave N, is now Harding House Brewing, which lists that address and its hours on its own site (Harding House).
- Southern Grist is now Xul Beer Co. Its taprooms at 754 Douglas Avenue in East Nashville and 5012 Centennial Blvd in The Nations appear under the Xul name on the company’s site (Xul Beer Co.), and WSMV reported that the Centennial taproom closed from July 20 to August 7, 2026, to take on the Xul identity (WSMV).
Planning a Brewery Crawl
- Group by area: The Nations has Fat Bottom, Harding House, and Xul’s Centennial Blvd taproom; SoBro has Yee-Haw, New Heights, and Tennessee Brew Works.
- Check hours and kid or dog rules on each taproom’s page.
- Do not drive between stops; use a rideshare, and see how to get around Nashville without a car.
