Of the Nashville-born coffee companies compared below, the one with the most cafes listed on its own site is Frothy Monkey. Its locations page lists four Nashville cafes: 12 South, Downtown, The Nations, and East Nashville. It also lists cafes in Downtown Franklin, Southside Chattanooga, Downtown Birmingham, and Homewood, Alabama (Frothy Monkey, locations). Frothy Monkey says it started in the 12South neighborhood in 2004. It now describes itself as “an all day cafe, specialty coffee roaster, and wholesale bakery” (Frothy Monkey, about). The other multi-location local names are smaller. 8th & Roast lists two cafes plus counters at BNA and a downtown hotel (8th & Roast).
