The Mall at Green Hills is the best mall in Nashville. It is not a close comparison.
Why The Mall at Green Hills wins
Located at 2126 Abbott Martin Road in the Green Hills neighborhood, five miles south of downtown, the mall runs over 1,053,000 square feet across two floors with more than 120 stores and restaurants. The luxury anchors include Nordstrom, the only Nordstrom location in Tennessee, along with Dillard’s and Macy’s, plus RH Nashville’s flagship gallery space.
The luxury brand presence is significant by any regional measure: Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Omega, Tiffany & Co., Burberry, David Yurman, and Chanel all operate here. More than 55 stores are unique-to-market in Nashville, meaning you cannot find them anywhere else in the city. Digitally native brands like Casper, UNTUCKit, Warby Parker, and Peloton have physical locations here. The atmosphere inside is notably less chaotic than most American malls, fewer kiosks, wider walkways, less frantic energy.
The one notable gap: there is no food court. Dining options include the Nordstrom Grill, a North Italia, Sports & Social, and the only RH Café in Tennessee.
Simon Property Group completed a full buyout of the mall in November 2025, acquiring it from the Taubman Realty Group subsidiary that had previously managed it. The management transition has not yet visibly changed the tenant mix.
The adjacent Hill Center
Directly across from or near the mall on Hillsboro Pike, Hill Center Green Hills provides outdoor walkable retail: Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, West Elm, lululemon, Billy Reid, H. Audrey, and Kendra Scott. It complements rather than competes with the enclosed mall, and the combination of both destinations on the same corridor makes Green Hills the most complete shopping district in Tennessee.
What about Opry Mills?
Opry Mills, near the Grand Ole Opry in the Donelson area, is a large outlet and off-price mall that attracts tourist traffic. It has Bass Pro Shops, an IMAX theater, and national chain restaurants. It serves a different purpose: value shopping and entertainment destination, not luxury retail. If you need off-price or outlet goods, Opry Mills is a legitimate option. If you want the best Nashville has in standard retail, Green Hills is the answer.
The honest caveat
The Mall at Green Hills requires money to use well. The stores are not browsing destinations on a budget. If you are visiting Nashville and want to experience it, do, but understand what you are walking into.
