What Parking Apps Work in Nashville?

For street meters in Nashville, use ParkMobile, which pays for and extends meter sessions by the zone number posted on the signs; the kiosks work too. For garages, SpotHero and ParkMobile let you reserve a space in advance, and some downtown garages, including those of the Predators’ official parking provider, Metropolis, use their own app-based payment. Whichever app you use, enter your license plate correctly, because enforcement checks the plate, not a receipt on the dashboard.
The Apps and What They Do
| App | Use it for | What its own site says |
|---|---|---|
| ParkMobile | paying street meters and extending a session; reserving garage and lot spaces | Nashville's on-street meters are managed by Metro Nashville and operated by LAZ Parking; you pay at a kiosk or in the app with the zone number on nearby signs, and can add time from your phone up to the zone's posted maximum |
| SpotHero | reserving a garage or lot ahead of time | lets you find and book parking near the airport, stadiums, and neighborhoods in Nashville |
| Metropolis | paying at Metropolis-run garages | describes drive-in, drive-out parking without a checkout, using camera recognition |
Each description is from the app’s own page: ParkMobile Nashville, SpotHero Nashville, and Metropolis.
Bridgestone Arena names Metropolis the Official Parking Provider of the Nashville Predators, and the Ryman points drive-in, drive-out parking around the auditorium to Metropolis as well (Bridgestone Arena, Ryman).
Using an App at a Street Meter
- Find the zone number on the sign by your space.
- Start the session in the app or at the kiosk as soon as you park.
- Enter your license plate exactly; NDOT requires the correct plate to avoid a ticket (WSMV, April 2025).
- Read the posted rules for that block, including the hours payment applies and the maximum stay. Since April 2025, you can stay up to 10 hours in one area; downtown’s Central Parking District is enforced 24 hours a day.

When to Reserve a Garage Instead
Reserve ahead when you have a fixed start time, such as a concert or game, or when you plan to stay longer than a street zone allows. Compare the reservation price with the venue’s own parking list; for Predators games, Bridgestone Arena lists lots sold in advance and a free lot with a shuttle. Where the main garages are is covered in where to park downtown Nashville.
