As of 2025, BNA is served by 18 airlines flying nonstop to 114 destinations, a record that surpassed the previous high of 99 set in July 2023. The airport has shifted from a mid-size regional hub to a genuine national and international gateway over the past decade.
Southwest Is Dominant
Southwest Airlines operates more routes from BNA than any other carrier by a wide margin, connecting Nashville to roughly 81 airports. By summer 2025, Southwest launched its first intra-Tennessee route (Nashville to Memphis) and opened a new flight crew base in Nashville on May 1, 2025, which accelerated its expansion. Southwest operates from Concourse D, the newest part of the terminal.
That dominance matters for ticket pricing. Southwest’s lack of assigned seating, no-change-fee policy, and point-to-point network means BNA fares on many domestic routes are structurally lower than they would be at an airport controlled by legacy carriers.
Legacy Carriers
American Airlines operates from BNA with nonstop routes including Washington (DCA/DFW connections), several Florida markets, and seasonal international service to Cancun. American flights primarily use Concourse B.
Delta Air Lines serves Nashville with nonstop routes from Atlanta (its main hub), Boston, New York (both LaGuardia and JFK), Los Angeles, Seattle, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Raleigh-Durham, Detroit, and Washington, among others. The Delta Sky Club is in Concourse B. Delta also runs seasonal flights to Cancun.
United Airlines connects Nashville to its main hubs including Houston (IAH), Chicago (ORD), Denver, and Washington (Dulles), with onward connections to the full United network.
Budget Carriers
Allegiant Air has a crew and aircraft base at BNA and operates nonstop leisure routes to secondary markets that other airlines don’t serve, including many Florida beach towns, Las Vegas, and seasonal destinations. Allegiant relocated to the Satellite Concourse in 2023 to support its expansion.
Frontier Airlines added Nashville-Orlando nonstop service in March 2025. Spirit Airlines also serves BNA with budget routes. Avelo Airlines added multiple new routes in 2025 including Rochester, Wilmington, and Lakeland, Florida. Sun Country Airlines operates seasonal leisure routes.
International Airlines
BNA’s international program grew substantially in 2024-2025.
British Airways operates year-round nonstop service to London Heathrow (LHR) on Boeing 787, an 8-hour flight and the airport’s longest route at 4,169 miles. This is the most strategically important single international route at BNA because Heathrow connections reach virtually all of Europe.
Aer Lingus launched year-round nonstop service to Dublin (DUB) in April 2025 on an Airbus A321XLR, operating four days weekly (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday). Dublin connects onward to Ireland and serves as an efficient preclearance hub for U.S.-bound flights.
Icelandair added seasonal nonstop flights to Reykjavik-Keflavik (KEF) beginning April 2025, originally scheduled for May but moved up five weeks due to early demand. The route runs through October on select days. Icelandair’s stopover program lets passengers spend time in Iceland at no airfare premium before connecting onward to Europe.
Air Canada provides year-round service to Toronto (YYZ) and Montreal (YUL), with seasonal flights to Vancouver (YVR). Air Canada connects BNA passengers to more than 145 destinations across six continents through its hubs. A service expansion launched May 1, 2025.
WestJet offers year-round service to Toronto and Calgary, with seasonal routes to Vancouver and Winnipeg.
American Airlines and Delta both run seasonal routes to Cancun (CUN). Southwest added seasonal Saturday service to Cabo San Lucas (SJD) and Punta Cana (PUJ) in March 2025, joining its existing Cancun flights.
What’s Not Here
No nonstop flights from BNA reach South America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, or Oceania. Travelers connecting to those regions route through London, Dublin, Atlanta, Chicago, or Houston. No Asian or Middle Eastern carrier has announced BNA service as of early 2026, though the airport’s trajectory makes such routes plausible within the next five to ten years.
Punctuality
In January 2024, Cirium analytics ranked BNA among the most punctual airports in the world. The J.D. Power North American Airport Satisfaction Study ranked BNA among the best large airports in the country. Single-terminal design and the expanded security checkpoint reduce the operational friction that delays larger, multi-terminal airports.
