Is Nashville Airport Easy to Navigate?

Mostly, yes. BNA has a single terminal with five concourses, and screening happens at the 24-lane checkpoint in the Grand Lobby, so the basic route from the curb to the gate is simple. Three things are worth knowing before you go, as of October 2026: gates C4 to C11 are in a satellite concourse reached by shuttle, rideshare pickups and drop-offs happen in a garage about a five-minute walk from the terminal, and construction has closed Concourse A, moved the walkway from the terminal garages into the terminal down to Level 1, and, since October 20, 2026, routed cars into both terminal garages through Terminal Garage 2.
The Layout in Brief
| Part of the airport | What to know |
|---|---|
| Terminal | one terminal with five concourses, one of them under construction (Wikipedia) |
| Security | the Grand Lobby checkpoint, with 24 screening lanes (Airport Improvement) |
| Concourse A | closed since September 24, 2025; the rebuilt concourse is expected in July 2028 |
| Concourse D | extended in July 2025 with five gates, all operated by Southwest Airlines |
| Satellite concourse (gates C4 to C11) | reached by shuttles that run every three minutes, 24 hours a day |
| Concourse T | where international arrivals that are not precleared are processed |
The terminal layout is from Wikipedia, and the checkpoint detail from Airport Improvement.

Arriving: From the Gate to Your Ride
- Follow the signs to baggage claim and exit the terminal on Level 1.
- Turn right and follow the Ground Transportation signs to Level 1 of Terminal Garage 2.
- In the Ground Transportation Center, look for Ride App Pickup (Lyft at Zone A, Uber at Zones B and C), Taxis/Limo, or Shuttles/Buses, where WeGo’s Route 18 stops at the purple WeGo sign.

Departing: From the Curb to Security
- By rideshare. Since June 3, 2025, rideshare drop-offs are at the Ground Transportation Center on the ground floor of Terminal Garage 2, not at the Departures curb (WSMV). WSMV described the walk to the terminal as about five minutes.
- By car, parking in a terminal garage. During the Central Core renovation, expected to last through December 2027, the Level 5 pedestrian bridge is closed and garage parkers enter the terminal on Level 1 (WSMV, August 2026). Since October 20, 2026, the Terminal Garage 1 entrance and exit are closed, so drivers enter and leave both garages through Terminal Garage 2 (WSMV, October 20, 2026).
- Your gate. With Concourse A closed, check the gate on your boarding pass or the airline app on the day, and allow a few extra minutes for the satellite shuttle if your gate is C4 to C11.

Where the Friction Is
The terminal layout itself is simple; the friction comes from the construction program around it and from the walk between the terminal and the garage that serves rideshares, taxis, and the bus. Plan for that walk in both directions. How the expansion programs changed the airport is covered in what BNA Vision changed.
